Owl sightings??? Scappoose / Rocky Point Rd. Trails (forum)
Submitted by DrewBuilt on Mon, 06/23/2008 - 3:51pm.About 3-4 weeks ago, my brother and I were riding the Rocky Point Rd. trails, and we were checking out the "freeride structures".
While we were observing the gap jump, after the right hand berm...
I happen to look to the right, & at the base of this large tree, there were two owls. They were white or very lt. grey, and they were just standing on the ground, almost cuddled up together... But both of them starring wide-eyed back at us.
Is this a common occurance around there? Has anyone else spotted these owls?

Scappoose Access Update (story)
Submitted by rtyler on Mon, 06/16/2008 - 7:15pm.Recently the responsibility of overseeing this land has changed hands within the Longview Fibre personnel. There were certain issues in regards to the existing trails that caught their attention and they request that the following be completed immediately:
- Remove jumps in the trail system, especially those that have tree limbs or logs pounded into the ground vertically.
- Remove structures & signage that use non-natural items in their construction which can potentially cause damage to tools & personnel during logging.
- Do not destroy any further plant life, cut or damage any tree, or excavate any land.
- Do not construct any additional trails
- No commercial activities of any kind.
PUMP understands that LF owns operates this land solely for timber production and very much appreciates that LF has allowed us to build trials and ride on their private land. In order to maintain access and a good relationship with LF, PUMP will be planning a series of work parties to bring the Scappoose Trails into full compliance with LF's requests. They have requested that all the work be completed before August 1st. and we plan to have it completed as soon as possible.
