Ape Canyon Trail Work Party, Mount St Helens, WA (event)

08/03/2008 - 6:00am
08/03/2008 - 4:00pm

There will be a work party on the Ape Canyon Trail at Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument on Sunday, August 3.  Bring nippers, limbing saw, or similar tool that will fit in your backpack.  Bring your camera and enough food and fluid to last the day. There is an excellent chance that we will be able to get the trail work done and still have plenty of time to ride across the Plains toward the ladders. This is a great opportunity to get up on the mountain.

Attached is the presentation given at the April 2008 monthly PUMP meeting.  This was the kick-off of the Trail Building Tips presentation series and was focused on minimizing trail erosion through proper trail water management.  Thank you to the International Institute for Rural Reconstruction, the USDA Forest Service, UCSB, IMBA, and of course the book Trail Solutions: IMBA's Guide to Building Sweet Singletrack.  Check out a PUMP meeting or www.imba.com for more information.
