Submitted by bd on Mon, 05/12/2008 - 10:32am.The bear springs trap xc race is on 5/17 (Sunday). The flyer states that you can pre ride the course on 5/16 (Saturday). I did this race a few years ago and enjoyed the trails. I was thinking about doing the pre ride since I'm more interested in checking out the trails then the race. I'm concerned that it may still be buried in snow. Does anyone know what the snow levels are like before I attempt a trek out there?

Mount Hood 44 Road Trail Conditions (forum)
Submitted by Jordan on Mon, 04/14/2008 - 4:11pm.From Jim Thornton via Roger Louton:
"I just got a call from our buddy Jim Thornton, the Forest Service Trails Guy for all them awesome, world class trails near Road 44:
as of right now, there is about 4 feet of snow in the Road 44 area. At 6000' there is still over 200" of snow!
He guestimates it will be LATE June, early July before the trails up there are cleared of snow and blowdown, and ready for riding.
He'll keep us posted for when he'll need some help getting them ready to ride.
