"Capitol Punishment".......Capitol Forest
Come join us for this 40 mile "Capitol Punshiment" ride. We have this one honed to almost perfection. This ride has just about everything to offer from buff singeltrack to a twisty, rooty, burmed downhill off the top of Capitol Peak. The climbs aren't long or steep but expect to climb a lot.
Everything you need to know about Capitol Forest
The ride
Start at Mima Falls TH
Follow Green Line #6 up then down to Fall Creek CG
Onto Mima Porter #8 up to Camp Wedekind
Back onto Green Line #6 up to Capitol Peak
Continue down Green Line #6 back to Fall Creek CG
Back onto Mima Porter #8 up through The Lost Valley
Continue up then down on Mima Porter #8 at the intersection of #20 back to the car.
If there is interest we can add an out and back from Camp Wedekind to Porter Creek on Mima Porter #8.
This will add another 20 miles to the ride.
This will be a fair weather ride. If it has been raining the week before or raining on Sunday the ride could be cancelled. So please contact me if you are planning to go.
Meet in the Jantzen Beach Safeway parking lot at 7:30 and plan to leave by 8:00.
The drive up will take about 1.5 to 2 hours from Jantzen Beach, so plan to be gone all day. We usually stop on the way home for food.
If you want to come and don't want to do the 40 miles there are options to do less or bail out on the 40 miler. If you plan to not do the long ride or not sure if you can do the 40 miler feel free to come but please bring a map. It isn't hard to navigate, all the intersections are marked. I can also help with other ride options prior to the ride on Sunday. Here is a link to the current map. http://www.capitolforest.com/trailmappage.html

re shorter option
I might be talked into the shorter option too. I need to get geared up for Bend Big Fat Tour, but my pace is not as fast as Aaron's or Susan's. It's that dang windsurfing thing!
Dang...nobody responded
Dang...nobody responded right away so I made plans to go to Bend. We'll have to take our own trip up there! :)

Hope I can make it....
Aaron,
I'm gonna do everything I can to make it on Sunday. Not too sure though. Have to be in Seattle Saturday night. If I could get dropped off in Capitol Forest at the trailhead on Sunday, then could I hitch a ride back to Vancouver with somebody afterwards? That's gonna be my only way to make it work.
