Ape Canyon Trail Work Party, Mount St Helens, WA

08/03/2008 - 6:00am
08/03/2008 - 4:00pm

There will be a work party on the Ape Canyon Trail at Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument on Sunday, August 3.  Bring nippers, limbing saw, or similar tool that will fit in your backpack.  Bring your camera and enough food and fluid to last the day. There is an excellent chance that we will be able to get the trail work done and still have plenty of time to ride across the Plains toward the ladders. This is a great opportunity to get up on the mountain.

If you plan on going, please let me know ASAP so we can arrange a car pool location in Portland.  We will need to meet other people from the Longview area about 7:30-7:45AM on Sunday.  For those who may want to camp you are allowed to do some backcountry camping around the Marble Mountain Snow Park.  Even though parking permits are not required here, I strongly urge people to buy them.  Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument really needs the money these permits bring in.

If any questions, please advise.

Ape Canyon Trail Work

I'd like to help out with this.  I'm in Vancouver, and can carry an extra bike in my rack for anyone who wants to share a ride.
