Second scheduled work party to bring the trails in Scappoose into compliance with Longview Fibre policy.
Meet at the bottom of Rocky Point Road.
Bring gloves, water and boots. We will also need shovels, racks, maclouds, hoes, pick
axes, and polaskis. John plans on hitting the first downhill trail on the
south side of the road. There are about a dozen dirt jumps that need to
be removed.
Take Highway 30 West from Portland. When nearing Scappoose, Make a left on Rocky Point Road, just past the truck scales.

I sure hope there is a good turnout for the Sunday work party and the next one. I have been working on removing dirt jumps on one of the other trails the last 2.5 weeks and it is brutal work. As I told John yesterday when he dropped by while I was working... be sure you loosen the dirt you want to stay uphill first and try to get it in place before letting gravity have it's way with the dirt as the jump is broken. In other words... study the area before engagement of hand tools! Otherwise dirt will need to be moved back uphill. I will be at the work party on the 29th. Lets show Longview that a large number of riders really do care about not just having trails to ride, but respect them letting us use their property. The most important thing we can give is our time. Huge thanks to John for all his work on this and to Shane for his statesmanship!
