Thank you ~

Posted for Wayne

I wanted to thank Ray B, and the guy who races mtn bikes, TT, and Triathalons; for coming out to the Tillamook Trail Party last Saturday, August 16th.  We had two ODF employees, and two Oregon Dept of Forestry interns at that trail party.  So ODF had the most trail workers, not PUMP, and not OET. It was a very warm day.  Our trail party next month is the 20th of September. I hope to get a good showing of PUMPsters out to that trail party as we will not be competing with the Tour de Phat. It is also the Anuual BBQ for trail volunteers next month.  So we definately will not be working too long. The State of Oregon, Oregon Dept of Forestry is supplying the burgers, brats,and fixin's. Volunteers are asked to bring side dishes. ODF provides soft drinks.  So please come out to the tilly trail party the third Saturday of next month.

Hardwork = Trail Access

Wayne, Thanks for all your hard work!

The Wilson River Trail was a blast to ride and I look forward to my next ride there.

It is impressive to hear that you (& your fellow volunteers) have earned a high level of respect from the ODF employees.  That major accomplishment takes time and commitment to achieve.

I will try to make it to next month’s workparty.  The only thing that might keep me away is prep work for the Buck Creek workparty that I am leading the very next weekend.  I am coordinating volunteers from multiple user groups (PUMP, CAMBA, Cabin Owner Assoc, Back Country Horsemen) and DNR staff for a major one day event.

I would echo the Wayne’s call for people to volunteer on any of the many workparties scheduled.  It is the work in the dirt that earns the respect and support from the people who control the trails we ride.

There are lot of users in the world and it should be our goal to be givers.  Remember, “Givers Gain.”  Through our hard work, we can gain respect, trail access, special privileges, financial support, and so on.

See you on the trail.

Ted D
