Thanks from the Mt. Hood National Forest - Barlow Ranger District

Thanks from the Mt. Hood National Forest - Barlow RangerDistrict

I want to express my utmost gratitude to those people who madethe trip to the Forest this past weekend. National trails Day, June 7th, 2008was a great success because of your efforts. A total of 30 people worked onmulti-use trails on the Barlow Ranger District on the Mt Hood National Forest.

Many of the participants belong to clubs that organize workparties throughout the summer, such as PUMP, CAMBA, the Backcountry Horsemen, the Oregon Nordic Club and the Mt. Scott Motorcycle Club. These groups providequality trail work throughout the year on wilderness and non-wilderness trails.

This type of service work and commitment to your Forest isessential for future trails development and maintenance. We depend on andcitizens’ stewardship efforts to keep the trails open and in tip-top shape.

Thank you,

- Jim Thornton
